Netia Now Has 300,000 Subscribers of Broadband Internet!

Netia SA consolidates its position as a market leader among Poland's alternative telecommunications operators. On July 31, the number of customers using broadband services provided by Netia exceeded 300,000.

As part of its ongoing strategy for increasing broadband Internet coverage, Netia is investing in new solutions and offering new services, such as a four times faster connections. The company is planning to get 400,000 new broadband Internet subscribers by the end of 2008.

Netia provides broadband Internet access via its own copper-based network, using the WiMAX technology for wireless data transmission, as well as via the acquired Ethernet networks and Telekomunikacja Polska (TP) infrastructure. In April, making use of Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) by TP, Netia was able to introduce an offer independent of the incumbent operator.

“Considering the strong competition among telecommunications operators in Poland, obtaining 300,000 subscribers of broadband services is a huge success for us. It marks another milestone in implementing our strategy and, most importantly, we achieved this result just after closing the second quarter,” said Mirosław Godlewski, President of Netia's Management Board. “To continue our dynamic growth, we will be seeking to expand our customer base using proven solutions: investing in cutting-edge technologies and offering superior customer service.”
